This principle stems from the belief that when one's living conditions are just right, every other aspect of life becomes more manageable. To actualize this, WeBUILT prioritizes addressing each person's unique sensory needs and specific requirements. To Learn More please go to www.webuiltwilkes.com

The Community
A group of local parents asked a question that wouldn't let them go: What does living independently look like for an adult with disabilities living in Wilkes County North Carolina?
They didn't wait for someone else to answer it. After discovering an innovative housing model created by Ann Wilkinson in Oregon called WeBUILT, that helps adults with disabilities live independently within a true neighborhood community, they wanted to bring it to life for those living in Wilkes County.
On November 1st, friends, families, and supporters gathered at The Walker Center to launch the WeBUILT Wilkes Capital Campaign and the momentum in that room was real.
This is about more than construction. It's about building a place where adults with disabilities belong, grow, and thrive, not just today, but for generations to come. The land is ready. The plans are drawn. Now it takes a community to build it.
